New Mexico in Focus Talks with Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts

New Mex­ico in Focus looks at the role of the media in help­ing to cre­ate pub­lic dis­course with two jour­nal­ism icons: for­mer ABC anchor and cor­re­spon­dent, Sam Don­ald­son, and ABC and NPR news ana­lyst Cokie Roberts talk­ing about every­thing from the appar­ent death of bipar­ti­san­ship to the chang­ing media landscape.

KNME’s one hour pub­lic affairs show New Mex­ico in Focus airs Fri­days at 7 p.m. and Sun­days at 6:30 a.m. on KNME, Chan­nel 5.1. The show can also be seen on KNME’s Dig­i­tal Chan­nel 9.1 on Sat­ur­days at 5 p.m.

Plus, he was dubbed the “most dan­ger­ous man in Amer­ica” by for­mer CIA boss Henry Kissinger. Daniel Ells­berg changed the face of media dur­ing the Viet­nam War, by leak­ing the “Pen­ta­gon Papers” to sev­eral media out­lets. Ells­berg talks with host Gene Grant and UNM jour­nal­ism stu­dents about bal­anc­ing national secu­rity with gov­ern­ment trans­parency, plus why his expe­ri­ence may have even more rel­e­vance today.
