UNM Choral Program Advertised in the New York Times

UNM Choral Direc­tor Brad Elling­boe and a cadre of singers are headed to New York’s Lin­coln Cen­ter to sing René Clausen’s Requiem x 2, his epic choral con­cert per­formed in nine move­ments, on Sun­day March 18, at 2 p.m. Tick­ets are on sale and being adver­tised in the New York Times.

The piece was com­mis­sioned to cel­e­brate the 100th anniver­sary of choral singing at the Uni­ver­sity of New Mex­ico. The pro­gram will also include a per­for­mance of Mozart’s enig­matic mas­ter­piece, Requiem, high­light­ing the vocal bril­liance of award-winning mezzo-soprano Holly Soren­son and the sym­phonic direc­tion of con­duc­tor lau­re­ate Vance George, who will lead Dis­tin­guished Con­certs Orches­tra and Singers International.
