Information Technologies to Host Technology Days 2012

Tech­nol­ogy Days 2012, the annual Infor­ma­tion Tech­nolo­gies extrav­a­ganza fea­tur­ing the lat­est in tech­nol­ogy that IT has to offer the cam­pus com­mu­nity, is set for Thursday-Friday, June 28–29 at the UNM Stu­dent Union Build­ing. This year’s theme, “Tech­nol­ogy Today,” will speak to the many nuances of tech­nol­ogy and how tech­nol­ogy impacts our lives. New UNM Pres­i­dent Bob Frank and Chief Infor­ma­tion Offi­cer Gil Gon­za­les will be the fea­tured keynote speak­ers. Ses­sion tracks include secu­rity, Ban­ner and infor­ma­tion on many other IT projects cur­rently underway.

Tech­nol­ogy Today” will engage the Uni­ver­sity com­mu­nity to look at advanced or inno­v­a­tive appli­ca­tions that directly sup­port UNM’s mis­sion of edu­ca­tion, research, health care and pub­lic ser­vice; to dis­cuss core tech­nol­ogy that has a broad impact on the enter­prise; to inves­ti­gate active or future small or large scale roll-outs of tech­nol­ogy deliv­ered to mobile devices, and finally to engage the aca­d­e­mic com­mu­nity to be part of technology’s voice of decision.

Dur­ing this event, Infor­ma­tion Tech­nolo­gies also hosts sev­eral IT ven­dors who will present and train the Uni­ver­sity com­mu­nity on evolv­ing tech­nolo­gies and how these tech­nolo­gies apply to higher education.
