UNM Alumni Association Seeks Nominations for Lobo and Zia Awards

The UNM Alumni Asso­ci­a­tion is seek­ing nom­i­na­tions for its 2012 Zia and Lobo Awards. Recip­i­ents of these awards will be hon­ored dur­ing the All Uni­ver­sity Break­fast as part of UNM’s Home­com­ing fes­tiv­i­ties in Octo­ber. Dead­line to sub­mit nom­i­na­tions is Tues­day, July 3, 2012.

The fol­low­ing is the cri­te­ria for each award:

Zia Award
The Zia Award will be given to New Mex­ico res­i­dents with a UNM degree who have dis­tin­guished them­selves in any one or more of the fol­low­ing cat­e­gories: phil­an­thropic endeavor, pub­lic office, ser­vice to the Uni­ver­sity com­mu­nity and other vol­un­teer activ­i­ties, busi­ness or pro­fes­sional fields, or who have made a con­tri­bu­tion to edu­ca­tion. The recip­i­ent will receive etched glass design with Zia symbol.

Lobo Award
The Lobo Award shall be pre­sented to an alum­nus of UNM who had given out­stand­ing per­sonal ser­vice to UNM or for spe­cial achieve­ment in his/her career, which reflects credit on the Uni­ver­sity. The recip­i­ent will receive a small Nambé plaque with Lobo pin.

The UNM Alumni Asso­ci­a­tion wants to rec­og­nize out­stand­ing alumni and can’t do it with­out the help of the cam­pus com­mu­nity. To nom­i­nate some­one today, visit: UNM Alumni Nom­i­na­tion Form.
