Staff Appreciation Month Continues with Several Popular Events

Staff Appre­ci­a­tion Month con­tin­ues the week of Mon­day, July 23 with many great events includ­ing a mini-tour of UNM’s His­tor­i­cal Land­scape and Inter-professional Health­care Sim­u­la­tion Center,the annual Greg John­ston Sum­mer Con­cert and Bar­be­cue, and a new twist on an old event the LOBOr­rito Break­fast, for­merly the Pan­cake Breakfast.

From noon to 1 p.m., join UNM Land­scape Archi­tect Sue Mortier and learn how UNM designs, devel­ops and main­tains its land­scap­ing. Bring your gar­den­ing ques­tions along with com­fort­able walk­ing shoes, water, hat, sun­glasses and sunscreen.

Inter-professional Health­care Sim­u­la­tion Cen­ter hosts a mini-tour on Tues­day from noon to 1 p.m. at Domenici Cen­ter North, first floor. Learn about the newest addi­tions to the Health Sci­ences Cen­ter from Pro­gram Spe­cial­ist Sonja Dewing.

The annual Greg John­ston Sum­mer Con­cert and Bar­be­cue is set for Wednes­day from noon to 1 p.m. on South Sub Plaza. Come hear the music of Vin­tage Sounds. For just $5 you can pur­chase a freshly grilled burger or hot dog (veg­e­tar­ian options avail­able), chips, ice cream and lemon­ade. Come relax under the trees, lis­ten to music and visit with your friends and co-workers.

LOBOr­rito Break­fast is back by pop­u­lar demand, but with a twist! On Thurs­day, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the SUB Ball­rooms, step back in time with a 1950’s theme cel­e­bra­tion. UNM admin­is­tra­tors and Staff Coun­cil offi­cers will serve you a deli­cious LOBOr­rito with red/green chili on the side, fruit and bev­er­ages. Your LOBO ID Card is required for entrance. Come and have break­fast with your co-workers, meet old friends and make some new ones.
