The Tamarind Institute at the University of New Mexico hosts Brazilian jazz artist Saudade at a closing reception for the “Afro: Black Identity In Brazil and America” exhibit on Friday, Aug. 24 from 5:30 — 7 p.m. The institute is located at 2500 Central Ave., S.E.
Guests will get a chance to meet artists Sidney Amaral and Toyin Odutola as well as see the lithographs produced during the project, which began in June. Live interviews done during earlier residencies with Alison Saar, Paulino Rosana, Willie Cole and Tiago Gualberto will also be shown.
