Homecoming Events Scheduled for UNM Staff

If you work at UNM, but you didn’t go to school here, you’re still a Lobo and should not miss out on the Home­com­ing fun. Grab a mask and cape because the Staff Coun­cil cor­dially invites all staff in Lobo Metrop­o­lis to cel­e­brate on Tues­day, Oct. 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. out­side the south­east entrance to the Stu­dent Union Building.

For $5, enjoy a burger or hot­dog, chips, ice cream and lemonade…and lis­ten to some tunes.

And that’s not all. A cos­tume con­test takes place dur­ing the bar­be­cue. Cos­tume cat­e­gories are Super Hero, in keep­ing with the Home­com­ing theme, “Super U,” and the other is to show off Lobo spirit in grand style. Cos­tume con­test win­ners receive a tro­phy, a $50 gift card to the UNM Book­store, and other fine prizes. Lobo Louie will help select the win­ners. While at the bar­be­cue, sign up to win door prizes.

Show off your own super pow­ers by donat­ing blood in the United Blood Ser­vices van from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

And Home­com­ing isn’t over until the end of the game. Staff is invited to join the UNM Alumni Asso­ci­a­tion ofr a South­west Fiesta Tail­gate and Silent Auc­tion on Sat­ur­day, Oct. 6 begin­ning at 1:30 p.m. in the Club Level of the Pit. For $15 per per­son, join fel­low alumni and Lobo fans for the biggest tail­gate event. Bid on great auc­tion pack­ages at the tail­gate in The Pit. All pro­ceeds ben­e­fit the UNM Alumni Asso­ci­a­tion Schol­ar­ship Fund and programs.

After the tail­gate and auc­tion, head on over to Uni­ver­sity Sta­dium to watch the UNM Lobo foot­ball team take on the Texas State Bob­cats. Game time is 4 p.m. and dis­count tick­ets are avail­able for only $10.
