New Mexico in Focus Examines Poll Revealing Close Presidential Race

This week, New Mexico in Focus looks at the latest statewide poll by Research and Polling, Inc. and the Albuquerque Journal. The poll reveals a tighter than expected presidential race in New Mexico and shows Democrats holding leads in two key races for Congress.

New Mexico PBS’ one hour public affairs show New Mexico in Focus airs Fridays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 7 a.m. on Channel 5.1. The show can also be seen on New Mexico PBS Channel 9.1 Saturdays at 5 p.m.

The line also looks at political fundraising across the state and the continued struggles of Gov. Susana Martinez’s administration, as a lengthy recording of the governor’s chief of staff reveals the bare-knuckled nature of state politics.

Also, three organizers of the International Mountain Bicycling Association’s 2012 world summit are in-studio to talk about Santa Fe’s successful bid to host the October conference, and Martha Burk returns with a closer look at the women’s vote, as both Democrats and Republicans try to win over women, and win the White House.
