International Luncheons Are Back

The fall series of inter­na­tional lun­cheons kicks off with pre­sen­ta­tions by Mala Htun and Bill Wal­ters, on Tues­day, Oct. 9 from noon – 1:30 p.m. in the Roberts Room of Scholes Hall. A light lun­cheon will be served. To attend, RSVP to Joseph Suil­mann, or call 505–277-2613.

Mala Htun, asso­ciate pro­fes­sor, polit­i­cal sci­ence, presents, “When and why do gov­ern­ments pro­mote women’s rights? A global analy­sis of states and gen­der equal­ity policy.”

Bill Wal­ters, asso­ciate pro­fes­sor, the­ater arts, deliv­ers, “Pre­sent­ing ‘Port Twi­light’ in Bei­jing,” about his expe­ri­ence tak­ing a group of stu­dents to par­tic­i­pate in the Asia The­atre Edu­ca­tion Centre’s Fes­ti­val in Bei­jing, China.

The lunchtime series returns cour­tesy of Natasha Kolchevska, asso­ciate provost for Inter­na­tional Ini­tia­tives; and Mary Anne Saun­ders, spe­cial assis­tant to the pres­i­dent for inter­na­tional initiatives.
