New Mexico in Focus Talks with N.M. Candidate Jeff Byrd

This week on New Mex­ico in Focus, Jeff Byrd, Repub­li­can can­di­date for N. M.’s 3rd Con­gres­sional Dis­trict, sits down for a one-on-one con­ver­sa­tion about his polit­i­cal pri­or­i­ties and his cam­paign to rep­re­sent New Mex­ico in the U.S. Congress.

New Mex­ico PBS’ one hour pub­lic affairs show New Mex­ico in Focus airs Fri­days at 7 p.m. and Sun­days at 7 a.m. on Chan­nel 5.1. The show can also be seen on New Mex­ico PBS Chan­nel 9.1 on Sat­ur­days at 5 p.m.

The opin­ion panel dis­cusses the res­ig­na­tion of New Mex­ico State University’s pres­i­dent, Bar­bara Cou­ture, and the nearly half-million-dollar pay­out she will receive, and a look at the unrest in N.M.’s Depart­ment of Health and why that may or may not have led to the res­ig­na­tion of Sec­re­tary Cather­ine Tor­res. Plus, the group’s take on the first of the pres­i­den­tial debates.
