New Mexico PBS’ “Connect” Goes in Search of Life on Mars

Curios­ity has landed. Will researchers dis­cover life on Mars? Curios­ity Chem­Cam Sci­ence team mem­ber and UNM Pro­fes­sor Hor­ton New­som shares an insider’s view of the Mars Rover’s amaz­ing tech­nol­ogy and its search for the essen­tial ele­ments of life buried in Mar­t­ian soil.

Con­nect airs Thurs­day, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. on New Mex­ico PBS Ch. 5.1. Each month New Mex­ico PBS con­nects audi­ences to the great peo­ple and inspired think­ing found at the Uni­ver­sity of New Mexico. 

Inspired by her her­itage and imbued with female spirit, renowned Navajo poet Luci Tapa­honso shares her inspi­ra­tions and poetry. In a spe­cial seg­ment, Tapa­honso reads a new poem about her granddaughter.
