The UNM Faculty Committee on Governance sponsored a town hall style meeting with President Robert Frank on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 to discuss a new budgeting process. Frank and UNM Provost Chaouki Abdallah are implementing a Responsibility Center Management (RCM) budgeting process for the university.

Frank explains the process here.

Runs: 1:37:04

Frank emphasized that the new budgeting process will be implemented over time. He told the faculty that the new RCM process will be run beside the normal budgeting process for at least the next year, in order to give academic departments time to learn how to use the budgeting process to better support their important activities. About 100 faculty members attended the town hall meeting.
