UNM’s Office of Career Services Hosts Public Service Career Showcase

The Uni­ver­sity of New Mexico’s Office of Career Ser­vices hosts the Pub­lic Ser­vice Career Show­case on Thurs­day, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. — 3 p.m. in the SUB Ball­rooms. The UNM Pub­lic Ser­vice Career Show­case is designed to facil­i­tate the recruit­ment of the best and the bright­est that New Mex­ico has to offer and to encour­age job seek­ers to con­sider a career in pub­lic ser­vice — “Work­ing for America.”

The focus is on employ­ment in fed­eral, state, and munic­i­pal gov­ern­ments. The Office of Per­sonal Man­age­ment will also host a work­shop from 10 — 11 a.m. on the day of this career fair in the Stu­dent Union Build­ing. This work­shop will show indi­vid­u­als inter­ested in work­ing for the fed­eral gov­ern­ment how to uti­lize USA JOBS effec­tively as well as pro­vide best prac­tices for nav­i­gat­ing the fed­eral job market.

Stu­dents from all the four-year uni­ver­si­ties and two-year com­mu­nity col­leges are invited to attend. The show­case is open to UNM alumni and com­mu­nity mem­bers as well. Pro­fes­sional busi­ness attire is strongly recommended.We ask job seek­ers to come pre­pared, pro­fes­sion­ally dressed, and with plenty of copies of their resume.
