Electronic and Medical Equipment Recycling Event on Saturday

The UNM Staff Envi­rons Com­mit­tee is spon­sor­ing an elec­tronic recy­cling and med­ical equip­ment re-use event on Sat­ur­day, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the “R” park­ing lot near Girard and Cen­tral NE.

Elec­tronic items such as com­put­ers, mon­i­tors, print­ers, key­boards, com­puter mice, copiers, fax machines phones, cell phones, recharge­able bat­ter­ies, satel­lite tele­vi­sion equip­ment, stereos and speak­ers are welcome. There is a $20 cash fee for cath­ode ray tube (CRT) or pro­jec­tion televisions.

Appli­ances such as cof­fee machines, bread machines, toast­ers, crock pots, hair dry­ers and alka­line bat­ter­ies will not be accepted.

The Envi­rons Com­mit­tee will be work­ing with Ade­lante to col­lect used med­ical equip­ment such as wheel­chairs, walk­ers, hos­pi­tal beds, scoot­ers, safety bars, trans­fer sys­tems and lifts and other durable med­ical devices. The equip­ment will then be made avail­able to mem­bers of the com­mu­nity in need.  For more infor­ma­tion, visit: Ade­lante.
