The UNM Concert Choir, Recital Choir and Lobo Men’s Chorus present, “Home for the Holidays,” a holiday fundraising concert, on Friday, Nov. 30, at 7:30 p.m. at the KiMo Theatre, located at 4th Street and Central Ave. Casa Rondena is providing wine for purchase.

The concert features seasonal music around the theme of home for the holidays. “Additionally, we’re performing a variety of music – from Handel’s Messiah and White Christmas to James Taylor’s Secret O’ Life,” said Bradley Ellingboe, professor of choral music and conductor.
“The Lobo Men’s Chorus is new this fall. As we researched the history of choral music at UNM in conjunction with its centennial, we learned that in 1912 there was a men’s chorus called the Entertainers. The president of the University from 1909 to 1912 was Edward Gray, and he wrote music for the group,” Ellingboe said. He added that it was deemed an appropriate time to bring back a men’s chorus.
Lobo Men’s Chorus features 14 men. The Recital Choir raises up 16 voices and another group featured in the first half of the concert is the 505 Men’s Chorus. “They grew out of UNM and are now independent with some 40 members,” Ellingboe said. The second half of the concert features the UNM Concert Choir.
