Documents in Centennial Time Capsule

Construction crews remodeling the Centennial Library to accommodate the new Math Learning Lab have uncovered a time capsule placed in one wall by library staff in 1996.

Centennial was the first library on campus to begin using email and the time capsule contained information about how staff could be reached by email and other information about library services.

The time capsule was placed in the wall during construction to furnish one of the first areas set aside on campus for students to use computers. According to one library staff member, librarians thought it would be ironic to place the paper documents then in daily use at Centennial Library in the wall for future workers to discover.
