New Mexico in Focus Discusses High School Dropout Rate

This week on New Mex­ico in Focus, cor­re­spon­dent Tara Gate­wood, host of the nation­ally syn­di­cated radio pro­gram “Native Amer­ica Call­ing,” leads a con­ver­sa­tion with stu­dents who have met the demands of being a Native Amer­i­can high school stu­dent. This con­ver­sa­tion is part of the ongo­ing Amer­i­can Grad­u­ate series, which high­lights solu­tions to the state’s dropout crisis.

New Mex­ico PBS’ one hour pub­lic affairs show New Mex­ico in Focus airs Fri­days at 7 p.m. and Sun­days at 7 a.m. on Chan­nel 5.1. The show can also be seen on New Mex­ico PBS Chan­nel 9.1 on Sat­ur­days at 5 p.m.

Also this week, pan­elists dis­cuss a pro­posed fix to finan­cially unsta­ble pub­lic retire­ment pro­grams and look at upcom­ing votes to elect lead­ers among leg­is­la­tors for the next session.
