Crowe Receives a Global Health Fulbright in Latvia

Dr. Terry K. Crowe, occu­pa­tional ther­apy pro­fes­sor in the School of Med­i­cine, has been selected for a Ful­bright Spe­cial­ists project in Global Health. She will work with the Occu­pa­tional Ther­apy (OT) Depart­ment at Riga Stradins Uni­ver­sity in Riga, Latvia, from March 7 to March 31.

Crowe will col­lab­o­rate with the OT fac­ulty to strengthen their cur­ricu­lum, present sev­eral lec­tures to stu­dents, meet with com­mu­nity OTs and present a sem­i­nar for mem­bers of the Asso­ci­a­tion of Occu­pa­tional Ther­a­pists of Latvia. She will also present a keynote address at the Riga Stradins Uni­ver­sity Sci­en­tific Conference.

Crowe is one of more than 400 U.S. fac­ulty and pro­fes­sion­als who will travel inter­na­tion­ally this year through the Ful­bright Spe­cial­ists Pro­gram. The pro­gram, cre­ated in 2000 to com­ple­ment the tra­di­tional Ful­bright Scholar Pro­gram, pro­vides short-term aca­d­e­mic oppor­tu­ni­ties (2 to 6 weeks) to promi­nent U.S. fac­ulty and pro­fes­sion­als to sup­port cur­ric­u­lar and fac­ulty devel­op­ment and insti­tu­tional plan­ning at aca­d­e­mic insti­tu­tions around the world.
