KUNM’s Peace Talks Radio Celebrates 10 Years

Peace Talks Radio premiered as a monthly program on KUNM, 89.9 FM, in January 2003. To mark the 10th anniversary, they recently presented a program of engaging and inspiring clips from episodes featured on Peace Talks Radio in the last ten years. Among the voices featured is: Jimmy Carter, Jody Williams, Arun Gandhi, Daniel Goleman, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Marshall Rosenberg, Byron Katie and more. All present ways to reduce conflict at home and abroad. Click here for the program.

In February, Peace Talks Radio focuses on restorative justice, an approach that focuses on the needs of victims, the offenders and the community, instead of focusing purely on punishing the offender. Victims take part in the process; offenders take responsibility for their actions.

Programs in New Mexico feature interviews with host Carol Boss. The program airs on KUNM on Friday, Feb. 22 at 8 a.m. An hour long version will be posted online by February 15.

Peace Talks Radio shared the 2010 and 2012 Paul Bartlett Ré Peace Prize.
