News from Santa Fe for Jan. 25

Call it ERB boot camp. Legislators on the House and Senate education committees got a comprehensive briefing on education pensions and solvency issues at this morning’s joint session. What we didnt hear was debate on any of the pension solvency proposals. That will occur when the bills come up in their respective committees.

HB 64, made it through House Labor yesterday afternoon on a 5–4 vote. It will next be heard in House Education. SB115 has yet to be sceduled for its first hearing in Senate Education. We’ll keep you apprised of when that happens.

The House has scheduled a floor session this morning. The Senate is recessed til Monday.
