The University of New Mexico Global Education Office (GEO) holds its Study Abroad Fair on Friday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union Building Atrium.
The fair provides UNM students with a great opportunity to learn more about exchange programs, where to find scholarships, how to transfer credits and more. Representatives from partner exchange organizations and students who have studied abroad will be on hand to share their experiences and answer questions.
Studying abroad is a great opportunity for students to gain international and life experience, acquire intercultural communication skills, make friends and professional contacts, perfect foreign language skills and more.
There are study abroad opportunities in almost every region of the world ranging in length from a few days to a full academic year. There is a study abroad program for each student’s interests, academic program, career goals, budget, language skills and comfort level.
Study Abroad 101 sessions will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1 — 1:30 p.m. in Mesa Vista Hall, room 3097, and walk-in hours at the new GEO (Mesa Vista Hall, room 2122) every Monday-Friday from 1 – 3 p.m.
The fall 2013 application deadline is Feb. 15.
