Study Abroad Fair Set for Jan. 25

The Uni­ver­sity of New Mex­ico Global Edu­ca­tion Office (GEO) holds its Study Abroad Fair on Fri­day, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Stu­dent Union Build­ing Atrium. 

The fair pro­vides UNM stu­dents with a great oppor­tu­nity to learn more about exchange pro­grams, where to find schol­ar­ships, how to trans­fer cred­its and more. Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from part­ner exchange orga­ni­za­tions and stu­dents who have stud­ied abroad will be on hand to share their expe­ri­ences and answer questions.

Study­ing abroad is a great oppor­tu­nity for stu­dents to gain inter­na­tional and life expe­ri­ence, acquire inter­cul­tural com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills, make friends and pro­fes­sional con­tacts, per­fect for­eign lan­guage skills and more.

There are study abroad oppor­tu­ni­ties in almost every region of the world rang­ing in length from a few days to a full aca­d­e­mic year. There is a study abroad pro­gram for each student’s inter­ests, aca­d­e­mic pro­gram, career goals, bud­get, lan­guage skills and comfort level.

Study Abroad 101 ses­sions will be held every Tues­day, Wednes­day and Thurs­day from 1 — 1:30 p.m. in Mesa Vista Hall, room 3097, and walk-in hours at the new GEO (Mesa Vista Hall, room 2122) every Monday-Friday from 1 – 3 p.m. 

The fall 2013 appli­ca­tion dead­line is Feb. 15.
