Campus Safety Walk Set for Tuesday, Feb. 26

Campus Safety Walk set for Feb. 26.

Due to recent events on campus, the UNM Dean of Students Office will be hosting their spring Campus Safety Walk a little earlier this semester on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m. Those interested in participating should report to the SUB Ballroom C at 6:30 p.m. for instructions.

The campus walks are usually held twice a year in the spring and fall semesters. Participants walk around campus in teams identifying any issues with lighting, emergency phones, landscape hazards and any other safety concerns they feel need to be addressed. Evaluating the campus helps the appropriate personnel address safety concerns that will help make the campus safer for the UNM community.

These safety walks are a good way to address concerns and also serve as a reminder to students, staff and visitors to be aware of their surroundings on campus,” said Kim Kloeppel, interim dean of students.
