Four finalists for the position of dean of the UNM School of Law have been invited to visit campus over the weeks of March 4 and March 18. The candidates will meet with faculty, staff, students and community members during their visits.
The candidates are:
Alfred
Mathewson
Professor of law and acting director of Africana Studies at the University of New Mexico. Mathewson received his J.D. from Yale University. He served as associate dean for Academic Affairs from 1997–2002 and is currently the Henry Weihofen Chair in Law. Mathewson will interview on March 4–5.

Barbara Bergman
Professor of law and interim dean of the School of Law at the University of New Mexico. Bergman received her J.D. from Stanford Law School. She has served as interim dean since October 2012 and previously served as associate dean for Academic Affairs from 2008–2012. Bergman will interview on March 6–7.

Melanie Wilson
Professor of law and associate dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Kansas. Wilson received her J.D. from University of Georgia graduating magna cum laude. She also served as a senior administrative fellow at the University of Kansas from 2012–2013. Wilson will interview on March 18–19.

David Herring
Professor of law and co-director of the Clinic Programs at the University of Pittsburgh. Herring received his J.D. from University of Michigan graduating magna cum laude. He also served as dean from 1999–2005, interim dean from 1998–1999 and associate dean for Academic Affairs from 1996–1998 at University of Pittsburgh. Herring will interview on March 21–22.
