UNM’s Anderson School of Management to Recognize 2013 Hall of Fame Honorees

The UNM Ander­son School of Man­age­ment Foun­da­tion Board has announced the 2013 hon­orees to its Hall of Fame. They are: Albu­querque Mayor Richard J. Berry; John W. Brown, pres­i­dent and CEO, Silent Fal­con UAS Tech­nolo­gies; and Kim­berly E. Peña, prin­ci­pal, REDWLLC.

This year’s Young Alumni hon­orees are: Tim Nisly, COO, Rio Grande Com­mu­nity Devel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion; Anthony L. Mon­toya, Jr., chief engi­neer, Albu­querque Bernalillo County Water Util­ity Author­ity; and Erik Baca, finance con­troller, Intel Corporation.

Both the Hall of Fame hon­orees and the Young Alumni will be hon­ored and rec­og­nized at the 24th Annual Hall of Fame Ban­quet and Cer­e­mony, which cel­e­brates the best and bright­est of the UNM Ander­son alumni, fac­ulty and com­mu­nity lead­ers, on Thurs­day, March 7, at the Embassy Suites.

The theme of this year’s event is Night of Stars. The Hall of Fame evening begins at 6 p.m., fol­lowed by din­ner and the induc­tion cer­e­mony at 7 p.m.

The Ander­son Hall of Fame hon­ors alumni whose dis­tin­guished careers serve as a model to the next gen­er­a­tion of busi­ness lead­ers. Can­di­dates are selected for their pro­fes­sional suc­cess, con­tri­bu­tion to com­mu­nity involve­ment, and an ongo­ing com­mit­ment to con­tin­u­ing education.

Young Alumni hon­orees are 40 years of age and under who have dis­tin­guished them­selves in the short time since grad­u­at­ing from the Ander­son School.

Other awards to be given at the HoF cer­e­mony include the Leslie Boni, ASM asso­ciate pro­fes­sor and chair of the Depart­ment of Finance, who will receive the Com­mu­nity Ser­vice Award; Inter­na­tional, Tech­nol­ogy and Entre­pre­neur­ship (FITE) will receive the Com­mu­nity Lead­er­ship Award, and Tech­nol­ogy Ven­tures Cor­po­ra­tion (TVC) will be hon­ored with the Dis­tin­guished
Ser­vice Award.

Funds raised at the din­ner sup­port stu­dent suc­cess at the Ander­son School of Man­age­ment. Cor­po­rate spon­sor­ship oppor­tu­ni­ties are avail­able rang­ing from an event spon­sor­ship level of $10,000 to table spon­sors at a cost of $1,200. Indi­vid­ual tick­ets are $100.
