Street Art of Oaxaca — An Exhibition in the Herzstein Latin American Gallery

Molly Nelson, UNM master’s candidate in Latin American Studies and Art History, curated an exhibit currently on display in the Herzstein Latin American Reading Room on the second floor of Zimmerman Library on the UNM campus.

With support from the Latin American & Iberian Institute (LAII), Nelson went to Oaxaca to photograph street art in that city. Nelson explores the art and the narrative behind it; while Suzanne Schadl, assistant professor, University Libraries, and curator, LAII, describes the exhibit’s connection to collections in the library, and how other scholars and researchers can access materials.

Images from the exhibition are also featured.
