This Lobo statue, located southeast of Johnson Center, was created by sculptor John Tatschl as a dedication to the 158 students and alumni of The University of New Mexico who made the supreme sacrifice for our country in World War II. A new gateway to The University of New Mexico was recently unveiled on the northwest corner of Central Ave. and Girard Blvd. ASUNM was awarded funds from the NM State Legislature for the project in 2020.
