SOME UNM STUDENTS LIVING ON GREEK ROW REPORT SOME STRANGE, VIOLENT- ENCOUNTERS WITH HOMELESS PEOPLE ON CAMPUS. ONE STUDENT SAYS A MAN ASKED FOR MONEY, THEN FOR THE STUDENT'S IPOD-- AND WHEN HE SAID NO, THE MAN TRIED TO ATTACK HIM. POLICE SAY A DIFFERENT HOMELESS MAN WAS FOUND SLEEPING ON A SORORITY HOUSE FRONT PORCH... WITH A BOOMBOX BLARING. I KNOW A LOT OF MY FRIENDS ARE CONCERNED ALL THE TIME, ESP MY FEMALE FRIENDS. THEY RARELY WALK ALONE ON CAMPUS, DRIVE SOMEWHERE IF THEY NEED TO GO SOMEWHERE AT NIGHT UNM POLICE SAY THEY ARE INCREASING FOOT PATROLS ON CAMPUS. IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES, CALL 9-1-1.
