The new, more accessible LGBTQ Resource Center is made possible through a state capital allocation by UNM Alumnus and New Mexico Senator Jacob Candelaria. The new Resource Center is ADA compliant and features a training room, a study room, a kitchenette and a universal restroom.

More than 200 people attended the dedication ceremony for Farris Engineering Center. The renovated building houses the School of Engineering departments of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Computer Science and Nuclear Engineering.

Lead by President Stokes, many Lobos walked out on work recently. The walk, sponsored by UNM Employee Wellness, honored the American Heart Association’s National Walking Day—a day that promotes awareness of cardiovascular health.

Construction is progressing on Smith Plaza. A finished outdoor space is expected by the end of the summer.

The 2018 Miss Indian UNM Ceremony was held recently. Sarah Dennison was crowned as the 2018-2019 Miss Indian UNM. Dennison is from Tohatchi, N.M. of the Navajo Nation and is a pre-nusring student.
