The UNM School of Engineering is preparing for more than 250 young scientists, engineers, researchers and mathematicians to be on campus next month.

The annual Math Moves U is taking place Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Centennial Engineering Center. It is free, but registration is required, and can be done online.

The event will feature science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) workshops geared toward students in sixth through ninth grades. Students experience the career fields through hands-on learning and problem solving.

Participants will also interact with UNM Engineering student mentors during morning and afternoon activities, and take part in a tour of UNM facilities, breakfast snacks and a catered lunch from Marios Pizzeria.

The event is put on in partnership with UNM School of Engineering, Raytheon and New Mexico MESA.
