Advance at UNM hosts a series of workshops this spring designed to help faculty build an enjoyable career. The workshops include a variety of interesting topics including Create Your Own Writing Brigade, How to Address Broader Impact Expectations and Develop Outreach Programs, You Got Funded, Now What? and Laughter Yoga.

The first workshop, titled “Create Your Own Writing Brigade,” is scheduled for Feb. 1 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. In Acoma A and B in the Student Union Building. Writing coach, Lynn Beene will show the importance of writing accountability groups and will teach attendees how to build their own.

The second workshop titled, Laughter Yoga, is scheduled for March 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Lobo A and B in the Student Union Building. Advance at UNM is encouraging faculty to laugh and stretch the stress away and join Vanessa Haye in a yoga session.

The third workshop, titled “You got funded, Now What?,” is scheduled for March 22 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in the Scholars Room in the Student Union Building. Jeremy Hamlin, Christine Marquez and Vince Sarracino will give grants management guidance as attendies continue their research success at UNM.

The fourth workshop, titled “How to Address Broader Impact Expectations and Develop Outreach Programs,” is scheduled for April 26 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Acoma A and B in the Student Union Building. Stephanie Tofighi and Monica Kowal will help walk attendees through how to create an outreach plan for NSF or NIH proposal. Additionally, attendees will learn how to build on existing relationships and opportunities and have a meaningful impact.
