Africana Studies' Charlie Morrisey Research Hall honors New Mexico veterans with a program studying the history of Black veterans in the state, on Thursday, Nov. 11 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in Africana Studies. The program, "A Storied Legacy – A Study on the Lives of Black Veterans in New Mexico," will be facilitated by Chuck Crawley, Master Sergeant, United States Marine Corps, retired, will also reflect on the Buffalo Soldier legacy to the rise of decorated veterans who have been nurtured in New Mexico.

Students, faculty, staff and community member veterans of all cultures and times of service are encouraged to attend and share with the students and UNM community their experiences in serving the United States. Africana Studies will honor all veterans in attendance with a token of appreciation. Snacks will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.
