American Indian Student Services recently hosted S.T.A.R.S., or Special Thank you And Recognition from Students, where student nominate UNM faculty and staff and/or a tribal education student support provider for recognition. Those individuals mentor, teach, advise, advocate, assist with research, lend student support, offer leadership and/or aid in scholarship.

Miss Indian UNM, Se'mana Seukteoma, of Laguna Pueblo, provided the welcome. AISS Director Pamela Agoyo, Ohkay, Owingeh, Cochiti and Kewa, provided introductions and delivered the awards.

AISS Student Program Specialist Tammy James-Pino presented the Honorary S.T.A.R.S. award.
