Hope McIntosh ('99 BBA), an executive at VMware—number 39 on Forbes Most Innovative Companies list—will present “Authenticity is the Path to Leadership” lecture from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26 in the Bobo Room at Hodgin Hall Alumni Center.

Sponsored by the UNM Greater Albuquerque Area Alumni Chapter’s Professional Development Series, in conjunction with Homecoming 2017, McIntosh will discuss a study published by the Stanford Clayman Institute on authenticity and how she has used this approach to build her teams and her own leadership brand in a highly competitive industry; what worked and what didn't work based on her own personal and funny anecdotes as an executive in the technology arena.

VMware has 500,000 customers, 75,000 technology partners and 120,000 employees in 120 locations. McIntosh has been promoted five times in her seven years at VMware, with career highlights such as directing a national organization of 45 direct and indirect technology professionals building the End User Computing segment into an $80 million annual business in SLED and helped VMware become number 1 in its product category.

In July, McIntosh became the director of sales strategy and business development for the entire Americas Region (US, Latin America, Canada) in the company's mobile product line, a $300 million annual revenue business supporting the more than 500 direct and indirect sales resources.

McIntosh 's favorite role has been mother to three beautiful daughters CheyLee, Tayler and McCarley, and supportive spouse to Chris Anderson, a small business owner in the Albuquerque area. She is a fifth-generation New Mexican, a graduate of Albuquerque High School and The University of New Mexico.
