Darrell Garcia was appointed senior alumni relations officer at UNM Anderson School of Management recently. Garcia comes to the ASM after spending the past six years at Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School in Albuquerque, where he was a founding faculty member. Garcia received his MBA from Anderson in 2012 with a concentration in Policy and Planning. He also has a MA in elementary education from UNM and a BBA from Colorado State University.
In his new role, Garcia will work to reunite Anderson graduates with the business school. Local alums are invited to attend lectures, events and activities alongside members of the community. Garcia is planning events to reach out to Anderson alums living outside of New Mexico to keep them connected with their alma mater.
“One of the most important things that students can do is to stay involved,” Garcia said. “The Anderson School of Management provides numerous ways for both current and past students to stay connected and continue to move their careers forward. I look forward to working the faculty, staff, and students at Anderson to foster a culture of community and connectedness.”
There are also opportunities for alums to act as mentors to current students, network with other Anderson grads as well as receive career services, access to Johnson Gym and Zimmerman Library privileges. To get involved, Anderson alums are encouraged to contact Garcia at 505.277.6264 or email email@example.com.
