The Student Union Building at the University of New Mexico is hosting a Pumpkin Carving Contest in the atrium, Friday, Oct. 28 beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Alex Borowski, SUB marketing assistant and event coordinator said, "We encourage all UNM students, organizations and departments to participate in this year's Pumpkin Carving Contest, whether it by carving a pumpkin or just stopping by for free food while observing the work of the participants."
Pumpkins will be judged on craftsmanship, creativity and originality. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place individual pumpkins as well as the best department pumpkin.
Judging begins at 1:30 p.m. but participants do not have to be present to win. All winners will be notified by the SUB Marketing department to receive their prizes.
