This Saturday, April 11, the Associated Students of UNM (ASUNM) Community Experience hosts its annual Spring Storm, a citywide event where UNM students, staff and faculty volunteer in a one-day service project designed to give back to the community.
Volunteers check in at the UNM Football Stadium beginning at 9:15 a.m. and are assigned to various sites around the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho area where they will work until 2 p.m.
For more information on Spring Storm, contact ASUNM Community Experience at 277-0106.
The day concludes with Fiestas 2015! hosted by ASUNM Student Special Events on Johnson Field. The annual event, which follows Spring Storm, includes games, live music and prizes. The outdoor concert runs from 1 to 9 p.m.
Other activities include the Rockstar lounge, mechanical bullriding, rock climbing wall, food trucks, Spring Storm celebration, give-a-ways and more. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
The UNM Police Department and Campus Security would like to remind all attendees that alcohol, smoking, drugs, pets, outside drinks and or coolers are strictly prohibited.
Additionally, parking will be very difficult that day as many events are happening around that part of campus. Organizers suggest parking in the Yale Parking Structure on Yale south of Lomas.
