Every year, the New Mexico State Legislature hosts UNM Day where UNM representatives head to the New Mexico Capital Building to lobby on behalf of higher education.
For the 2020 Legislative Session, UNM Day falls on Monday, Jan. 27, and the Associated Students of The University of New Mexico hosts three separate trainings for undergraduate students who are interested in attending and being a part of UNM Day.
UNM Day is a day-long experience that gives students the opportunity to speak with different legislators on their experience at UNM. UNM Day is all expenses paid for any interested undergraduate student including meals and transportation. To attend UNM Day with ASUNM, students must attend one day of UNM Day Training. Trainings will help educate students on what to wear, what are key issues affecting students and important day-of information.
UNM Day Trainings will be held Jan. 21, Jan. 23 and Jan. 24. The Jan. 21 training will be held in room Mirage-Thunderbird on the third floor of the Student Union Building. The Jan. 23 training will be held in room Mirage-Thunderbird on the third floor of the Student Union Building. The Jan. 24 training will be held in room Lobo B on the third floor of the Student Union Building. All trainings will begin at 5 p.m.
