Breda Bova, professor, College of Education and chief of staff to the UNM president, recently received a New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award. The NMDPSA recognizes unusual contributions to public service and improvement of government at all levels.

Bova's published works include "Workplace Learning and Generation X" and "The Mentoring of Generation X." She has been active as a volunteer in organizations including the United Way of Central New Mexico board of directors and Samaritan Counseling Center board.

She has received awards including the Distinguished Woman of the Year Award from the New Mexico Commission on the Status of Women, Spirit of Achievement Award, UNM Student Services Award, Zia Award for Outstanding Alumni and YMCA Woman on the Move Award.
