"Short & Happy Guide to Financial Well-Being" by Sherri Burr

Professor Sherri Burr will be at the UNM Bookstore on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. for a discussion and book signing on “A Short & Happy Guide to Financial Well-Being." This event is open to the public.

“Short & Happy Guide to Financial Well-Being” uses colorful characters such as Lively Law Student, Learned Lawyer, Published Poet, Reliable Realtor, Scattered Secretary and Seattle Businessman to display financial concepts in a humorous light.

Burr joined the UNM Law faculty in 1988, and currently teaches intellectual property law, art law, entertainment law, wills and trust, and international law. She has authored or co-authored 17 books and published hundreds of articles in newspapers and magazines.

Burr has served as a columnist for several publications, including Editor and Writer, the Albuquerque Tribune and the Southwest Sage. She has received numerous writing awards, including five National Press Women awards, over a dozen New Mexico Press Women awards, and two Southwest Writers awards. She is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Princeton University and Yale Law School.

An internationally renowned lecturer, Burr has spoken at numerous universities in Barbados, Canada, Chile, France, Greece, Japan, Mexico, Spain and South Africa. In the United States, she has lectured at Dartmouth, Yale, New York University, the University of Iowa and numerous other educational institutions.
