Did you know that you can apply for your U.S. passport on campus? The UNM Passport Center is a U.S. Department of State authorized passport acceptance facility located in the UNM Bookstore on main campus.

The Center offers convenient and full-service passport assistance to UNM students, staff, and faculty, and the public for new passport applications, passports for minors, and assistance with renewals.

With holiday travel around the corner, the UNM Passport Center is offering walk-ins and appointments for fast, friendly, and convenient service. The Center additionally offers passport and visa photos.

“When you utilize our facility, you are supporting international education initiatives at UNM,” said Danielle Gilliam, strategic projects officer, UNM Global Education Office. “This is a self-funded initiative that invests its remaining revenue in student and faculty mobility scholarships.”

The UNM Passport Center offers convenient hours, including Saturday walk-in service 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. During the week the Center is open for appointments Tuesday through Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and walk-ins 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“We try to make ourselves available to families and community members to encourage coming to our facility,” said Mary Phibbs, UNM Passport Center coordinator. “Traffic around the holiday season increases substantially, so we recommend apply for your passport before Nov. 1.”
