Executive and Professional Education (EPE) at the UNM Anderson School of Management is the new home of the CFO Academy. Founded by Brandon Haines and a prestigious board of trustees from diverse organizations, The CFO Academy is a professional association of Chief Financial Officers dedicated to the executive and leadership development of its community. The move to the business school gives the CFO Academy an increased ability to market its events and develop stronger ties with the business community.
Audrey Arnold, Director of EPE, says the academy has much to offer to the Anderson School.
“The CFO Academy allows CFOs and other financial professionals to grow their knowledge base through its Professional Development Series,” says Arnold. “But the general public is also welcome at the events that focus on the latest technologies, laws, and trends in accounting and tax rules that influence financial professionals today.”
The first event in the upcoming series is Ethics in the C-Suite by UNM Anderson Professor Harry J. Van Buren.
Van Buren will discuss how the C-Suite sets the ethical tone for an organization, for good or for ill. His interactive presentation will explore how the C-suite can promote a positive ethical tone, what systems need to be in place, and what top managers need to do to make this happen.
The event on Wednesday, Oct. 30 takes place from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Jackson Student Center on the UNM Campus. The cost is $45 pre-register or $55 at the door. Free parking is included for pre-registers. Appetizers and refreshments are included and two hours non-technical CPE credit is available. This event is sponsored by CliftonLarsonAllen LLP.
The CFO Academy’s Professional Development Series offers financial professionals information about the changing nature of their business as well as excellent networking opportunities and continuing education credits.
