The Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies is hosting an event with Representative Christine Trujillo as the keynote speaker. 

The event is aimed at highlighting lasting contributions of the Chicano/Latino Civil Rights Movement in New Mexico and its impact on K-16 institutions. The event begins at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16 in SUB Ballroom B.

UNM President Garnett S. Stokes will give the opening remarks. 

Sponsors of the event include Southwest Hispanic Research Institute (SHRI), UNM Native American Studies, UNM Africana Studies, UNM Institute for the Study of "Race" and Social Justice.
