Several departments and programs at The University of New Mexico are hosting FAFSA workshops leading up to UNM’s priority deadline of March 1. The Office of Admissions, College Enrichment Program, American Indian Student Services and El Centro de la Raza have each scheduled workshops during the month of February.  

UNM's College Enrichment Program hosts FAFSA Wednesday, Feb. 24. The workshops are held on the third floor of Mesa Vista Hall, room 3011.

Financially dependent students should bring this information for the person who claims them as a dependent, as well as for themselves:

  • Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID
  • Social security number
  • Driver’s license or ID
  • Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
  • Completed 2015 tax forms. If your taxes have not been completed, bring your W-2s to assist with estimating income.
  • Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)

Additionally, American Indian Student Services will host 2016 FAFSA-FOR-U, free drop-in financial aid workshops. The event will take place on Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Feb. 23 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Feb. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Mesa Vista Hall room 1119.

Students are asked to bring the following:

  • Student and parent FSA ID(s)
  • 2015 student and parent federal tax return(s)
  • 2015 student and parent W-2(s)

Lastly, more FAFSA workshops will be offered by El Centro de la Raza Feb. 20 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Mesa Vista Hall room 1153.

Students are asked to bring the following:

  • Completed tax forms for 2015 and W-2 forms for student and parent/guardian
  • Parent/guardian signature on FAFSA before it is turned in
