Beginning Monday, Aug. 1, UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) will introduce digital pay stations in the Cornell Visitor Parking Structure that will enhance use of the structure from a park and pay-as-you-exit configuration to convenient pre-paid hourly parking. As with the rest of the hourly, temporary parking on campus, the new pay stations in the Cornell Parking Structure will only accept Visa or Mastercard enabled debit/credit cards. Hourly rates will remain the same across campus at $1.75 per hour.

"The new pay stations in the Cornell Parking Structure will provide our customers with a better parking experience by eliminating the exit line and ensuring faster, more convenient parking," said Robert Nelson, PATS' interim director.

Nelson says implementing pre-paid parking in the Cornell Parking Structure further streamlines the customer parking experience by simplifying the parking technologies in use across campus. The pay stations at the Cornell Parking Structure utilize the same technology as the pay stations in the Yale Parking Garage. Metered parking on campus is also pre-paid parking using digital machines.

PATS' Customer Service Associates will be available on-site in Cornell to assist customers with the transition, use of the pay stations, and general campus way finding information. The Customer Service Associates will also be available to coordinate use of the Cornell Parking Structure during special events as it is heavily used by the major event venues on campus. During those times, special event rates will apply as they have in the past.
