The Configurable Space Microsystems and Application Center (COSMIAC) hosts the 2011 ReSpace and MAPLD conference at the Albuquerque Marriott Hotel this week.  The conference promotes discussion of recent advances in reconfigurable electronics and microsystems.

ReSpace explores the most effective manner in which these electronics affect increasingly capable, compact and low cost spacecraft.  MAPLD explains how to ensure these reconfigurable electronics survive and perform properly in the extreme environment of space.

Opening remarks for the ReSpace Conference will be given on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 8 a.m. by Steve Suddarth, director of COSMIAC and Research Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UNM.

The conference will continue through Thursday.
