During the recent Honors Forum, staff and students proudly revealed the 2016 Scribendi magazine to excited onlookers. This year marks an impressive milestone for the creative magazine—its 30th anniversary edition.

Opening remarks were given by Associate Dean Ursula Shepherd and Editor-in-Chief Caitlin Carcerano.

Shepherd said she is proud of all the work the Scribendi staff invests in the magazine as Carcerano spoke of the many successes and struggles the staff had confronted putting the edition together.

Students who contributed work to the magazine spoke to the audience about their submissions. Among others, UNM student Camilla Allison read excerpts from her creative nonfiction piece “Tender Love” and fellow student Joshua Lane explained the story behind his photo “Life in Varanasi” with a PowerPoint presentation.
