Managing employees of several generations is not an easy task. For the first time in history, four distinct and very different generations are working together. Each one has its own different beliefs, expectations, values, learning styles and desires. On Tuesday, May 24 from 1 - 2 p.m., Anderson School of Management Professor Robert DelCampo will identify the characteristics of these different generations and offer insight into how managers can create a culture that embraces communication and collaboration between all workers in his presentation - Generational Differences. The free talk will be held in the Domenici Auditorium at the Health Sciences Center on the UNM Campus.
DelCampo is the Rutledge Professor of Management in the Department of Organizational Studies at the Anderson School. He has published or presented more than 75 papers and is the author of five books. His current book, Managing the Multi-Generational Workforce: From the GI Generation to the Millennials, looks at each generation and how they relate to each other and specifically how managers can integrate the new generation – the ‘Millennials' into the workplace.
