“Exchange: Between You and Me,” a gallery talk by Susan Dever, takes place Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the UNM Hospital’s Jonathan Abrams MD Art Gallery from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Dever is an associate professor of Cinematic Arts in the College of Fine Arts. The talk is part of a current exhibitiion titled "Exchange: Between You and Me, An invitational Art Show by Collective Perception."

“Exchange: Between You and Me” is a Rumi-inspired show, based on a modern poet’s riff on the 13th-century poet’s work.

The installation of work, involving 20 New Mexican artists, will include citation of a well-known interpretation of the Persian poem by poet Coleman Barks. His version compellingly imagines a space where people might meet, regardless of belief. Artists and guests will discuss the poem and how the work in the exhibition relates to it.

The Jonathan Abrams MD Art Gallery is located on the Fifth Floor of the Ambulatory Care Center (5ACC). Regular gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays.

Parking is available at the UNM Hospital West Parking Structure (Lomas and Yale, NE).
