The UNM Latin American & Iberian Institute presents, "Africans and Their Descendents in the Early Modern Ibero-American World," Monday-Tuesday, April 18-19 in the Student Union Building in Lobo rooms A&B.
This interdisciplinary Richard E. Greenleaf Colonial Conference features four panels - three on Monday and one on Tuesday, with UNM faculty moderating the panels.
Kathryn McKnight, LAII's associate director of academic programs, brings together eight foremost scholars of the Afro-Ibero Atlantic world with UNM faculty to explore questions related to the negotiation of identity, place, difference and categorization within the Early Modern period.
