The University of New Mexico Institute for the Study of Race & Social Justice at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center for Health Policy hosts the symposium, "'Counting ‘Race:' Racial and Ethnic Measurements in the 2020 Census," on Friday, Sept. 9 from 1 - 5 p.m. in the Student Union Building ballroom.
The symposium features moderated roundtable discussions on a variety of topics including how best to count race and ethnicity in the United States Census, the use of multiple measures for race, the undercount of Native Americans and standards for the collection of ethnicity data set by the Office of Management and Budget.
A reception follows the event, which is free and open to the public.
